SHOWDOWN: ANOTHER JEFF LYNNE ALBUM DUE NEXT YEAR?

Hello ... Hello ... my old friends ... It's great to see you once again! My good friend and ELO gig buddy Christian 'Poker' Evans has alerted Yours Truly KJS and ELO Beatles Forever [ELOBF] to this interesting news via the Showdown mailing list, posted earlier today thus:

"There's a rumour that there are actually three new albums in the works ... "Long Wave" and "Mr. Blue Sky" due out next month, and another album of new songs coming out in 2013. Eight tracks finished so far. Who started this rumour? Jeff did! [On] Wednesday night at the debut screening of "Mr. Blue Sky: The Story of Jeff Lynne and ELO" at the Grammy Museum in Los Angeles!"

With the twin releases in October to look forward to together with the much anticipated "Armchair Theatre" and "Zoom" expanded editions, an "ELO Live" album plus a possible follow-up to "Long Wave" and now an album of Jeff Lynne original compositions, the next year [or whenever] looks like being the busiest for the ELO maestro from since "When Time Stood Still"! You can rely on ELO Beatles Forever [ELOBF] to keep you posted of any further developments ...

Until next "Time" in the ELO [and related] Universe ... KJS ... 13-Sep-2012

  1. I know we all would love too see some type of new concert with a blast from his past till today, It would be super too see him like super bowl halftime concert to start then go on to play a few dates around, playing antique, classic, new, Jeff Lynne*elo* songs from Jeff Lynne. There hasn't and probably will never be anything too come out and sound that good ever again. I saw him in concert in Shreveport, Louisiana and became hooked on this brilliant sound. I never here anybody brag on his voice, Jeff can sing. He sings several songs on the zoom album that are just beautiful, the only singer that could sing some off his ballads and sing them as good, would be Roy Orbison. We all miss him. I was watching the latest country show and all of these young singers were performing, they were not singing country at all, it was nothing but rock and roll. It got me too thinking, if that's what the younger generation is starting to get in too, Might be time for E L O to comeback. I think its the right time. Of course it will take a little time for this new generation to here this music, especially the way radio, etc. plays music today. How about a flying saucer landing during a half time at the super bowl, fog everywhere and as it opens up JEFF LYNNE & ELO emerges.
